Getting Started with the Alde Control Panel
1. Standby Screen Overview
- Displays the indoor temperature using an internal probe sensor.
- Circulation pump icon: Indicates operation.
- Shore power icon: Confirms connection.
2. Setting Your Desired Temperature
- Main menu: Set the indoor temperature.
- Does not read outdoor temperature (no external probe sensor).
3. Adjusting Hot Water Settings
- Normal Mode: Regular hot water and heating operation.
- Boost Mode: Provides extra hot water for 30 minutes, then reverts to normal.
- Recommendation: Turn on Boost Mode before showering.
4. Selecting Power Source
- 1 kW → Use when plugged into a 15-amp outlet (half power to prevent overloading).
- 2 kW → Use when connected to a 20 or 30-amp outlet (full power).
- Propane Mode → Turn off electric and turn on propane.
- Electric Mode → Turn off propane and turn on electric.
5. Setting Priorities for Power Source
- If both propane and electric are available, set the default power source:
- Electric priority: Uses shore power first (recommended to save propane).
- Propane priority: Uses propane first if preferred.
Advanced Settings
6. Night Mode & Day Mode
- Allows automatic heating control based on schedule.
- Set specific timeframes for the heat to turn on or off.
- Example Use: If you are out for a hike or skiing, program the heat to turn on before you return.
- If heating is not working, check if these modes are activated.
7. Adjusting Units & Display Settings
- Temperature Units: Choose between Celsius or Fahrenheit.
- Display Brightness: Adjust screen brightness.
- Sound Settings: Enable or disable button sounds.
8. Automatic Temperature Increase (Legionella Prevention)
- Runs at 2:00 AM to increase hot water temperature and prevent bacteria growth.
9. Temperature Offset Calibration
- If the Alde temperature reading is inaccurate:
- Adjust up or down by 5 degrees max to match an external thermometer.
10. Delayed Start Mode
- Allows the heating system to start automatically at a later time.
- Can be set for one cycle per week.
- Example: Set from 12:00 AM Monday to 10:00 AM Tuesday, and it will repeat weekly.
11. Pump Settings
- THM Mode (default): Regular operation.
- Continuous Mode: Used only for servicing (leave off unless instructed).
12. Reset & Factory Settings
- Reset Option: Restores factory settings.
- External Switch: Not used in nuCamp models.
13. Service Mode (Troubleshooting Information)
- Displays glycol temp, water temp, and fan rotation.
- If troubleshooting, tech support may ask for these values.
- Typical Water Temperature:
- 120-130°F (15-amp outlet)
- 150°F+ (propane or 30-amp service)
