Step 1: Prepare the System for Draining
- Set the Nautilus panel to Power Fill using the key on the sticker.
- Open the hot and cold low-point drain valves to let any liquid drain out.
- Drain the gray tank to remove excess water.
- Locate the fresh water tank drain on the passenger side of the wheel well and drain it.
- Inside the camper, lift the dinette seat to find the water heater drain, then open it and let it drain completely.
Step 2: Close the Drains
- Once everything is drained, close the:
- Water heater drain
- Freshwater tank drain
- Gray tank drain
- Low-point drain valves (hot and cold lines)
Step 3: Blow Out the Lines
Materials Needed:
- Air compressor
- Pressure gauge
- RV blowout adapter (garden hose to air hose)
- Short leader hose
Steps:
- Set each Nautilus panel knob to a 45-degree angle.
- Connect your garden hose to the air compressor.
- Set the air pressure to 40 PSI.
- Open one low-point drain valve and allow compressed air to push out excess water.
- Close the drain valve and repeat with the other low-point drain valve.
- Inside the camper, blow out the water heater drain using the same process.
- Once finished, disconnect the garden hose from the air compressor.
Step 4: Add Antifreeze
- Set the Nautilus panel to Winterize mode.
- Insert the leader hose into the antifreeze jug or bucket.
- Turn on the water pump to start the siphoning process (it will stop when the lines are pressurized).
- Open each faucet and fixture inside the camper (hot and cold) until the water runs pink.
- Open the bathroom faucet and run both hot and cold until pink.
- Connect the external shower hose and turn on the hot and cold taps until pink.
- Pour antifreeze down the shower drain to protect the trap.
- Add antifreeze to the toilet to protect the shutter valve.
