Winterizing your nuCamp TAG protects your water system from freezing temperatures. Follow these steps to ensure your camper is properly prepared for winter storage.

1. Locate Key Components

  • On the driver’s sideof the TAG, identify the following:
    • City water inlet
    • Fresh tank fill inlet
    • External shower connection

2. Drain the Freshwater Tank

  • Open the freshwater tank drain to allow water to exit the system.

3. Prepare the Water Pump for Antifreeze

  • Under the sink, unthread the hose on the inlet side of the water pump.
  • You will need a fitting adapter to connect the hose to the inlet
  • Place the other end of the hose into the antifreeze container.

4. Siphon Antifreeze into the System

  • Turn on the water pump to begin siphoning antifreeze into the system.
  • Open the water faucet and run antifreeze through the faucet until pink liquid is visible.

5. Winterize the External Shower

  • Open the external shower and connect the hose.
  • Run antifreeze through the external shower hose.
  • Turn off the water pump.
  • Disconnect the external shower hose by pushing back the collar of the connection.
  • Drain any excess antifreeze from the hose before storing it.

6. Remove Excess Antifreeze and Reconnect the System

  • Place a towel or rag inside the cabinet to catch any antifreeze leaks.
  • Remove the hose from the antifreeze container.
  • Hold the hose over a bucket to prevent antifreeze from spilling onto the ground.
  • Remove the other end of the hose from the water pump.
  • Reconnect the fresh tank hose to the water pump.

7. Final Cleanup and Tightening

  • Use a towel to clean up any excess antifreeze.
  • Use a wrench to tighten the plumbing connections with a quarter turn.
