Introduction
This video applies to the 2023, 2024, and 2025 model years.
Dewinterizing your nuCamp TAG involves draining antifreeze, sanitizing the plumbing system, and flushing it with fresh water. Follow these steps to prepare your camper for the camping season.
1. Drain the Antifreeze
- Open the freshwater tank drain and allow all antifreeze to drain completely.
- Once fully drained, close the drain valve.
2. Prepare the Sanitizing Solution
- Mix 1/2 cup of bleach per gallon of water.
- The nuCamp 2025 TAG has a 24-gallon freshwater tank, so use 12 cups of bleach.
- Using a water bottle to pour bleach into the gravity fill makes the process easier.
3. Fill the Freshwater Tank
- Connect one end of a hose to the city water inlet.
- Use an inline water pressure regulator to prevent over-pressurization.
- Hold the hose into the gravity fill to top off the tank with fresh water.
4. Run the Sanitizing Solution Through the System
- Turn on the water pump.
- Run water through the outdoor kitchen faucet until all pink antifreeze is gone.
- Repeat the process for the external shower.
5. Drain the Sanitizing Solution
- Empty the remaining sanitizing solution from the freshwater tank.
6. Refill and Flush the System
- Fill the freshwater tank again with fresh water.
- Open the faucet and flush out any residual sanitizing solution.
- Repeat the process for the external shower.
7. Final Drain & System Check
- Turn off the water pump.
- Drain the freshwater tank one final time.
