Understanding Your Solar System

  • All 2022-2025 nuCamp units come equipped with a SunFlare solar panel on the roof.
  • A Victron solar controller manages the solar intake.
  • The controller does not have a display but is Bluetooth-enabled, allowing you to monitor data via a smartphone.

Downloading the Victron Connect App

To view solar performance, you’ll need to use the Victron Connect app:

  1. Download the app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.

Connecting to the Solar Controller

  1. Open the Victron Connect app.
  2. The app will search for nearby Bluetooth controllers.
  3. Tap on the detected Victron solar controller.
  4. Enter the default PIN code: 000000 (six zeros).
  5. You may be prompted to change the PIN—this is optional.

Monitoring Solar Performance

Once connected, you’ll see:

  • A large number in a circle at the top of the screen, representing the wattage your solar panel is currently pulling in.
  • Additional details in the menu below, including:
    • Solar panel voltage
    • Battery voltage

Understanding Solar Readings

  • If there is low or no wattage, this may be due to:
    • Insufficient sunlight (e.g., cloudy conditions, shaded areas).
    • The battery being fully charged and not needing more power.
  • The solar system is fully automatic—it starts charging whenever there is enough sunlight.

Troubleshooting & Support

  • The Victron Connect app can serve as a diagnostic tool if you're unsure whether your solar system is working correctly.
  • If you encounter issues, feel free to contact nuCamp Tech Support at tech@nucamprv.com.
