Freezing climates can damage the camper’s plumbing system and equipment. The camper must be drained, blown out, and have antifreeze protection before storing in below-freezing temperatures in the fall/winter. This is done through a process called winterizing.
To prepare your TAB 360 for winter, you must fully drain the system, clear out any remaining water by blowing out the lines, and protect your RV by adding antifreeze.
Follow the steps below or watch the video for a step-by-step tutorial on winterizing your camper.
1. Drain Antifreeze from the System
Open the gray tank and low-point drain valves. Once drained, close the gray tank and drain valves.
2. Check Toilet Reservoir
Some TAB 360 models have a cassette toilet with a separate water reservoir. If your toilet has a separate water reservoir, add antifreeze to it.
3. Drain Water from Tanks & Lines
Open and drain the following: gray tank, freshwater tank, hot & cold water low-point drains, and the Alde yellow safety drain (under the permanent twin bed). Once drained, close all valves.
4. Prepare for Air Blowout
You'll need an air compressor, an air pressure regulator, a blowout adapter, a shut-off valve for airflow, and a water hose. At the Nautilus, turn knobs to a 45-degree “V” shape. Attach the hose to the water inlet.
5. Blow out the Water Lines
Open and blow out one line at a time (do not exceed 40 PSI):
- Cold & hot water low-point drains
- Outdoor shower
- Alde yellow safety drain
Close drain valves after blowing out each line.
6. Blow Out Faucets
Open and blow air through the kitchen faucet. Repeat for the bathroom faucet.
7. Add Antifreeze
Disconnect the air compressor and switch the Nautilus to Winterize Mode. Keep the hose attached to the water inlet and place the other end in antifreeze. Turn on the water pump to siphon antifreeze into the system.
8. Run Antifreeze Through Water Lines
Run antifreeze through the hot & cold lines of the outdoor shower, the kitchen sink, and the bathroom sink. Continue until the water turns pink.
9. Protect Drains & Toilet
Pour antifreeze down the shower drain, and flush antifreeze down the toilet.
10. Turn off the water pump.
Your RV is now winterized and ready for storage!
