Introduction
The Red Overheat Failure code on the Alde system indicates air pockets in the glycol lines. Follow these steps to relieve air pockets and reset the system.
1. Disconnect Power to Reset the Alde System
Before doing anything, disconnect power to ensure the Alde resets properly:
- Turn off the battery using the battery disconnect switch.
- Unplug from shore power.
- Disconnect the 7-pin connection from your tow vehicle.
- Wait for 10 minutes to allow a full system reset.
2. Locate and Use the Bleeder Valves
Bleeder valves help remove trapped air in the system. There are three accessible bleeder valves in the nuCamp TAB 400:
- Back bed area – Located behind the upholstery.
- Kitchen area – Found under the sink.
- Bathroom – Inside the radiator vent (harder to access).
While bleeder valves will vary from model year to model year the below video is still accurate through the 2025 model year. Newer models, such as the TAB 360 and TAB 360 CS, will not be included in this video.
3. Adjust Trailer Position for Efficient Bleeding
For best results, adjust the trailer’s position based on which bleeder valve you are using:
- Back bed area → Tip the front of the unit downward.
- Kitchen (front area) → Tip the front of the unit upward.
- Bathroom (middle of trailer) → Keep the trailer level.
4. Bleeding the Air from the System
A. Kitchen Sink Bleeder Valve
- Locate the bleeder valve under the kitchen sink.
- Tilt the glycol line upwards so that air moves to the tip.
- Open the bleeder valve and release air until fluid comes out.
B. Bathroom Bleeder Valve (Harder to Access)
- Remove the cover around the shower faucet (unscrew four screws).
- Remove additional screws holding the vent cover in place.
- Open the bleeder valve inside the vent to release air.
5. Reconnect Power and Verify System Status
- Reconnect to shore power.
- Turn the battery back on.
- Check if the Red Overheat Failure code has cleared.
- Ensure the system runs smoothly without air pockets.
6. Additional Support
If the issue persists, contact tech@nucamprv.com or call nuCamp support for further assistance.
