Introduction

If you are experiencing issues with your Alde system not producing enough or any hot water, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

1. Confirm Alde Settings

  • Access the Alde Control Panel.
  • Press Menu and check the shower symbol:
    • Halfway mode = Normal hot water mode.
    • Boost mode = Extra hot water for 30 minutes.
  • Ensure hot water mode is turned on.

2. Check Glycol and Water Temperature

  • Navigate to Settings > Service on the Alde panel.
  • Scroll down to view Glycol Temp and Water Temp.
  • Ideal water temperature should be at least 120-130°F before using hot water.

3. Verify Nautilus System Settings

  • If using city water connection, set the Nautilus system to city water mode.
  • If using onboard water tank, set it to dry camping mode.
  • Ensure the bypass valve (if using a Nautilus P2.5) for the hot water tank is in the vertical position.

4. Adjusting the Mixing Valve

A. Adjusting the Old-Style Mixing Valve (Black Cap)

  • If not enough hot water:
    • Turn the knob toward the plus (+) symbol.
    • If maxed out and still insufficient, remove the black cap:
      • Use a flathead screwdriver to loosen the screw.
      • Inside, adjust the black piece until it aligns with the outside ring.
      • Do not go past this point to prevent system failure.
      • Reattach the cap and tighten the screw securely.

B. Adjusting the New-Style Mixing Valve (Red Cap)

  • Pop off the red cap.
  • Use the cutout on the capto adjust the valve:
    • Counterclockwise = More hot water.
    • Clockwise = Less hot water.
  • Ensure the hot water line (red) is connected to the “H” side and the cold water line (blue) is connected to the “C” side.
  • If stripped, use a 5/16 socket wrench to adjust.
